Condenser Cleaning
Clean condensers are critical to refrigeration efficiency, as a blocked condenser requires more fan power to achieve the same heat rejection. If sufficient heat can't be rejected head pressure increases, drastically reducing refrigeration efficiency.
The correct procedure for condenser cleaning is both time consuming and messy, for these reasons it is very often neglected.
In many cases condensers are cleaned from the outside (in the same direction as airflow) this results in debris being 'washed' deep into the coil blocking airflow and exacerbating the problem.
We undertake a full deep clean of condenser coils, this involves vacuuming the coil surface, removing condenser fans and steam/hot pressure washing the coils from the inside using specially adapted lances. This process is repeated until all debris has been removed. Finally the floor area around the condenser is cleaned to prevent debris re-entering the condenser.
We would recommend that condensers are deep cleaned annually.
